Extended Holiday Sales

I went on to remove my sales buttons for my 20% autographed books this morning and then thought, why not just leave them until Christmas? :) So if anyone’s been contemplating getting them as gifts, you have more time now to consider it.

And if you didn’t get any jewelry during my Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale, don’t worry! From now until Christmas, you can get free shipping on any order over $10 using the code HOLIDAYSHIP at checkout.

Also, all of my ebooks are still 99 cents until December 31st. To see the details of all my current holiday sales, visit my sales page.

Announcing Jaye L. Knight Etsy Shop

The time has finally come to announce the opening of my new Etsy shop! I have always been interested in making jewelry, but I never pursued it until I recently had the idea to make and sell jewelry inspired by my books. So, for the last couple of months, I've been gathering supplies and creating designs to capture the essence of different characters or books. You can see a few of these designs below. Or click here to visit my shop and see them all.
I've only just begun in this new endeavor, and hope to add new designs regularly. Especially if I can get a few sales to cover the cost of more supplies. I also have plenty more ideas for jewelry and accessories inspired by Ilyon Chronicles that I look forward to making once Resistance is published. Right now, I've got pieces inspired by both my Pirates & Faith series and Makilien.
Have fun exploring my shop! And if you know anyone who loves jewelry, I'd love it if you send them my way. I hope my designs will appeal to a wide variety of people, not only fans of my books.

Pinterest Inspiration

I wasn’t going to do it. I wasn’t going to get sucked into Pinterest because I knew how much time I could waste with it. However, I did end up signing up and it has become one of my favorite writing tools. I do still end up wasting time sometimes, but the inspiration to discover is endless.

Now here’s a question. Have you ever wondered what celebrities an author might have in mind while they are writing a character? I have, and many of my own characters have been inspired by photos I come across or celebrities I see on TV. I never really considered sharing much of my inspiration before, but Pinterest presents a fun way to do that. So, whether or not you have Pinterest, if you’d like to see a some of my inspiration for characters and settings, you’ll find boards for all of my latest books. And here’s something exciting, that even includes my new fantasy books I’m currently working on. I will continue adding to it as I go through the series. With my inspiration board, you can get little bits and pieces of what it’s going to be like. Just follow the link to check it out.

Best Seller in Religious Historical Fiction

The very last post of 2011, and it is an exciting one for me. Yesterday, I had one of the biggest surprises I’ve ever had in the five years I’ve been writing professionally. I checked my Amazon sales ranking and discovered that the Kindle version of The Pirate Daughter’s Promise was #92 on the Top 100 Paid Kindle books under Religious Historical Fiction for a while. Making an Amazon best seller list was completely unexpected and quite an excitement for me. It’s a huge thing for indie author like me.

List

I never would have made it without the sale I had for Christmas. I was going to let it run through the 1st and then put the price back up to $2.99, but in celebration of a month that was even more successful than I ever expected, I’ve decided to leave The Pirate Daughter’s Promise eBook at 99¢. :) I hope many more people will enjoy it.

Pirates & Faith Book Poll

p&fI've added a poll to my blog. For those who have read my Pirates & Faith  series, I would love to know which of the four books was your favorite.

For me as the author, picking a favorite is a very difficult choice. Of course, I love them all, and had a unique experience writing each of them. But if I really had to pick, it would be between Every Tear and A Captain's Heart. I love the emotion and family relationships in Every Tear. In A Captain's Heart, I love the new, fresh characters that add something different to the series. And the relationship between Kyle Bryden and his mother was way too much fun to write. ;)
