Pen Name

I have a pen name!  Okay, I should explain.  Well, earlier Mom and I were talking about me using a pen name.  I had never really considered it before, but I thought it would be a good idea.  Well, all day I've been trying to think of something, but I just thought it would be next to impossible to find a something I liked.  I decided on keeping my name, Molly, but I couldn't think of anything for a last name.  I wanted it to be unique and not just any name.  Well, I was trying a few things and suddenly I got the idea for a very interesting name.  Molly Evangeline.  I like it.  So does Mom.  It's very unique and looks really good.  So, I now I have a pen name. :)

New Book

Last night I thought of a new book to write!  And I have the whole thing planned out.  I'm very excited about it.  It takes place about a year after Every Tear, which is my second book.  It's about completely new characters, but some of my old characters will show up once in a while.  I'm really excited.  It's been a long time since I had a fresh idea for a book.

Word from the Editor

I got my manuscript back from the editor and here's what she said:

"This was a real page-turner for me and I felt like it was almost a true account of some of your ancestors.  Well done.  A beautiful account of God's care and protection and those who had faith in Him during severe trials.  Your bio indicates that you are a recent school graduate and I want to especially commend you on your writing skills and encourage you to keep writing.  I also congratulate your home school teacher(s) on giving you a fine education."

I was very happy and very shocked too.  It's one thing to have your family and friends tell you that you can write well, but it's completely different to hear it from a professional editor.  Now it really seems real.

Phone Call

My project manager called last night and my book is in process!  It's so exciting!  Yesterday, Mom and I finished the back cover text.  I think sounds really good.  It's always hard to try to condense a book down into a short little blurb.  I'm anxious to see how they re-write it.

Back Cover Text

Today, Mom and I worked on the back cover text for The Pirate Daughter's Promise.  I wrote it and then she helped me re-write it.  We'll probably do a little more to it.  I can't wait until it's done.  I'd like to give the text to a few people so they know what the book is about.  I can't wait until Pleasant Word actually starts working on everything.  It will be fun to see the progress.

Manuscript and Cover Photo

ist2_1531851_tall_ship_sunset I was able to get a lot done on my book before I went to work yesterday.  I actually sent in my manuscript and, guess what, I found a photo at iStockphoto for my cover!  I really like it.  I can't believe now I know what my book will look like.  That's amazing.  Wow, I can't believe I sent my manuscript.  It's in the hands of professionals!  How exciting!  It's still hard to believe this is really happening.  It's a dream come true.  After all the months I prayed it would happen, it's happening!  :)

I'm an author!

It has actually really happened, I'm an author!!  We signed up at Pleasant Word and paid for it this morning!  I already have an ISBN number for my book (a small thing, but still incredibly exciting) and a project manager!  I've been writing for all these years, since I was eight, and now I'm actually getting a book published!  I've been waiting for this day for months.  This is amazing!

A Publishing Company

I've been looking into publishing a lot lately and I may have found a company to publish The Pirate Daughter's Promise!  It's called WinePress Publishing.  I have a good feeling about it and I keep praying to be shown exactly what to do.  I really want to get my book to as many people as possible and my greatest desire is to reach people with it.  I'm really excited that it's a Christian publishing company.
